Interfisa Banco, A financial entity with more than 45 years of history in Paraguay, needed to improve the monitoring and observability of its Production services. The main objectives included: having greater visibility in relation to logs and traceability, especially from a security point of view; answering questions about metrics about the use of digital channels; and making business, availability, performance and security metrics available to interested areas.
set out to implement our observability solution called EICAS-R, a cloud-native observability platform built with open source components that provides the key observability infrastructure for the storage, processing and visualization of metrics, logs and traces. The solution was fully implemented in a private cloud (on-premise) and the integrated components with the required productive services were deployed. The entire solution was documented and the knowledge was transferred to the Bank's IT area for its subsequent evolution.
Although the project took longer than planned, all services were deployed and integrated as required. The return on investment of this project was mainly leveraged by the savings in licenses for monitoring and security solutions. The objective was to deepen the knowledge and experience of the IT team to be able to completely self-manage with the tool.
