Challenge

Bancard S.A. the largest electronic payment processing firm in Paraguay needed to review and optimize its KPI monitoring systems in the Production Sector (SRE). The main objective was to be able to detect early alarms regarding deviations or problems in their services.

Solution

An assessment and check of the processes involved in the design, definition, collection, processing, transformation and visualization of metrics was carried out.  A new testing environment was made available to avoid interruptions in the productive service due to changes. The platform was configured to work in cluster mode to have greater redundancy and reliability. New metrics were configured to complete the necessary and relevant monitoring data. The platform was configured to manage alerts via different channels, so that the alerts generated reach the people who must intervene in solving problems. The platform was configured to evaluate Machine Learning functionalities. Training was carried out for the personnel in charge of the operation and maintenance of the monitoring system.

Results

The Monitoring team (SRE) has better tools to react faster to incidents and problems. This allows them to improve one of the key indicators related to service unavailability times (MTTR), anticipate certain problems and provide a higher quality of services to their clients.
